Stronger together: three days packed with technology, hands-on experience and team spirit

Getting to know products, trying them out for yourself, sharing experiences and developing new ideas together. That was exactly what our visit from colleagues at IMS Switzerland, IMS Austria and IMS Nordic here in Siegen was all about.

For three days, we carried out tests, talked shop and, of course, had a good laugh. It quickly became clear just how much potential lies within the newly formed group: pooling expertise, combining skills and jointly developing solutions for the rehabilitation of wastewater and drinking water pipes.

The first product to be introduced was the Schaummaxx system, which is used to prepare pipes for rehabilitation. Larger areas of damage are sealed with special PU foam and then prepared for further rehabilitation using, for example, the Polypipe Coating System.

Building on this, our coating experts Andree and Luca introduced the Polypipe Coating System to their colleagues. It wasn’t just theory, though: using the rabbitcoater 2.0, the participants were able to coat pipes themselves and test the system first-hand.

To round off the session, Beatrice Weber provided an insight into Amex Sanivar’s versatile product range. The focus here is on the pipe rehabilitation of pressurised and gravity-fed pipes in the drinking water sector.

And because a good day deserves a good finish, everyone went out for dinner together afterwards. Over delicious food, cool drinks and a round of bull riding, the technical discussions continued and a few stories were shared.

The final day was entirely dedicated to our resin manufacturer and group member, resinnovation GmbH. Ingo Zabel, Wolfgang Hormuth and Dennis Huncke gave an impressive demonstration of just how versatile resins can be in pipe rehabilitation. Whether dealing with different types of damage, specific requirements or particularly demanding applications, resinnovation has the right solution for almost any challenge.

Together, the group inverted a liner using EP and UV resin. Participants also had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with products such as resiFill, resiShield and FlexPox, and to discover their potential applications in manhole and sewer systems.

Later, over a bratwurst, there was plenty of time to clarify any outstanding questions, exchange experiences and get to know our new colleagues better, away from the world of products and technology.

As well as the products, one thing in particular took centre stage: getting to know one another within the newly formed group. After all, the better you know who brings what skills, products and experience to the table, the more effectively joint projects can be carried out.

Andree Schuster, Technical Support at Polypipe GmbH, sums it up: “We’re also getting to know each other better professionally: who covers what, who is responsible for which area? That makes it very interesting.”

Direct synergies are already emerging: a liner from group member Lateral Repair was inverted using resinnovation’s UV resin and IMS’s technology.

This is precisely where one of the group’s great strengths lies: we bring together different specialists, technologies and products.

For our customers, this means they receive solutions and products from a single source and can equip their construction sites optimally. At the same time, a knowledgeable point of contact is on hand to assist them with any questions, complications or new challenges.

The meeting in Siegen demonstrated just how much potential this collaboration holds. Colleagues become partners, individual products become comprehensive solutions, and three days spent together give rise to new ideas for the future of pipe rehabilitation.
